Robert Vincent Prize for Research

 

The Robert Vincent Prize is given in memory of the longtime GWU Pre-Medical Advisor Robert C. Vincent.  This prize is dedicated to support a junior premedical student for a summer research experience between his/her junior and senior year.  The recipient must be a major in Biology, Chemistry, or Psychology.  The award provides a stipend of $2500, which is expected to support two months of research.   

Applications should be submitted to Susan Hwang, Health Professions Advisor, in Phillips Hall 107.  Applicants must submit the following items:

1.      A one page proposal that includes an introduction, a statement of the problem, the general methodology to be followed, and a description of the significance of the work,

2.      A one page CV which includes relevant experience and coursework, and

3.      A one page letter of commitment from the supporting faculty member which includes a statement indicating that the proposal has a reasonable chance of being successfully completed during the summer, with whom the student will work, where the work will be performed, and that the student will have appropriate supervision and faculty mentorship.
